Alhambra tickets sold out? How to get them

By dani · 6 May 2026 · 7 min read

The Alhambra sells a limited number of timed tickets to the Nasrid Palaces, and in high season they sell out weeks ahead. If the official site shows everything full, you still have options. Here's what actually works.

1. Check availability every morning

Spots are released early due to cancellations and new dates opening. Check first thing and stay flexible on the day: midweek often has gaps even when weekends are full.

2. Guided tours with entry included

When standalone tickets sell out, many platforms keep quotas reserved for guided visits. They cost more, but guarantee Nasrid Palaces access and add the context that genuinely makes a difference here. Compare options in our Alhambra tickets guide.

3. The night visit

The night visit to the Nasrid Palaces is a separate ticket and often has availability when the daytime one doesn't. You won't see the Generalife by day, but the palace at night is spectacular and far less crowded.

4. Generalife and Alcazaba without the Palaces

If the Nasrid Palaces are impossible, the gardens, Generalife and Alcazaba ticket almost never sells out. Not the same, but still well worth it on its own.

What NOT to do

  • Don't buy from unofficial resellers. Tickets are nominative: ID must match. A resold ticket may not let you in.
  • Don't turn up without a ticket hoping to buy on site. In high season the box office hangs the "sold out" sign early.
  • Don't be late for your slot. The Nasrid Palaces time is strict; miss it and you don't get in.

In short

With fixed dates, book the moment you have them. If sold out, your best bet is a guided tour with entry included or the night visit. And if nothing fits, the Generalife and Alcazaba save the day. Meanwhile, plan the rest of your visit to Granada.
